Safe Haven Orphanage - Thailand
Safe Haven Orphanage is located at Ban Tha Song Yang (also known as Mae Tawo), a couple of hours north of Mae Sot on the Thailand / Burma border. Our mission is to provide an orphanage that is a "safe haven" to children throughout Thailand. Safe Haven Orphanage is a home that provides disadvantaged children with proper nurture, nutrition, shelter, clothing, medical care, and education. Safe Haven Orphanage is open to children from all communities of faith and culture and is non-threatening to the child's pre-existing belief systems.
Currently there are 61 children at the orphanage (the website http://safehavenorphanage.org is a bit out of date!).
As we don't have consistent funding, any money donated is used for the most pressing needs at the time. Currently we have a number of building projects going on - nearing completion of an infirmary and starting to build a girls dormitory. Small donations at the moment are used to buy food for the children, medical expenses and schooling materials.
